Keynote 05
Respect is everything – what counts on and off the pitch
“Respect is the foundation of a functioning society.”
Respect means showing an appropriate degree of regard as well as a positive feeling and understanding for the other person’s situation.
A referee who enjoys the respect of players, coaches and fans faces less hostility, even when he makes mistakes. Conversely, by treating everyone on and off the pitch with respect, the referee contributes to fair and sporting competition.
In the keynote “Respect is everything”, Deniz Aytekin shows why respectful interaction matters in high-pressure situations, whether on the football pitch or in a business context. On the pitch or in the office: clear and respectful communication is the key to avoiding misunderstandings and creating an atmosphere of trust.
Respect should not only be an individual virtue but an integral part of corporate culture. Companies that cultivate a culture of respect benefit from more satisfied employees, better collaboration and ultimately better business results.
This keynote impressively shows that respect is not only a moral duty but also a key to success. Deniz Aytekin’s experiences on the football pitch provide valuable and memorable impulses – in a highly entertaining way – for how we treat each other in private life and in business.
